That's why they sell badge less grills. For the Jetta it always looks strange with that gap.

And the MKV has it's own unique issue, which I think is what he's talking about, where the hood is notched out around the badge. Most of the good badgeless grills even come with the panel to fill the notch, but that doesn't stop people from half-assing it.
